Surgery can cause pain, muscle weakness and even muscle amnesia (a memory loss of the muscle groups affected by the surgery).
The body may become very efficient at using other muscles to perform a task that prevents/reduces the burden on the muscle or joint that has been operated on. In consultation with your GP, physiotherapist or surgeon I will help you re-educate your body to effectively and efficiently use your joints and muscles. I will provide you with the knowledge, a home exercise programme and the support that will enable you to speed up your recovery.
